LJ Idol: Wheel of Chaos

A new season of LJ Idol is starting up here on Dreamwidth.

Idol is a 'weekly' writing challenge where mad (and maddening) topics get posted, and then you have until the deadline to write your entry and post it. Entries are gathered onto a ballot, and votes determine who is eliminated and who survives to write another week longer.

With this post, I'm officially signing up for this season, and I hope you'll join me!

Oh, I dunno, I'm planning on enjoying the evil. Thing is, I suspect you've participated in many more seasons than I have, and probably have a better idea what's coming our way. LOL If I start gnashing my teeth, feel free to tell me, "I warned you, dude!"

There is still a piece of evil from the Friends and Rivals (I think?) season, or maybe Season B, that I haven't forgiven. And it makes me wary!

You're a much more "go with the flow" person than I am, so I suspect your reaction to something like that would be "D'OH! He got me! Oh, well..." :D

Yeah, I do try and be "go with the flow," even when I have issues about something, mostly because it's Gary's community, so whatever he says goes. If I'm being honest though, I too have something that I haven't forgiven! Remember the "guest hosts" or whatever they were called in like week 20 or so in season 8? I was one of the eliminations in that round, which I was fine with, until one of the judges basically said, "Oh, there were so many entries I didn't read them all, but I've read yours now and like it." Um... Thanks! That's super!

Stacked up against all the fun I've had competing though, and the pieces of writing that were created thanks to that idea Gary had almost twenty years ago ... Yeah I'm good!

I'm glad you're back too! Have you ever missed one of these? I've been in it since the first time (Season 8), except for whatever went on in the first 2 years after our house burnt (when I was on social media hiatus due to the Overwhelmedness).

Which was your first season?

I started in Season 4 as a competitor; I joined the community in season 3.

So I’ve done seasons 4-11, exhibits A & B, the 3 Strikes season in 2022 and LJ Idol mini season in 2024. I don’t recall if I’ve missed any, but it’s possible.
