What with the stocks having been managed by multiple institutions at one time, no single place has a record of what the purchase price was at the time the stocks were bought. And that also has to be computed for the split-off stocks for the 6 new companies over time! I never thought the original company could possibly create so much trouble down the line due to... too much success?
I don't think I bought any stock after maybe the first 10-12 years, but that mystery-history really creates problems.
