Belatedly, I'm so glad you enjoyed this! I'd hoped to write more fiction like this during that endless challenge, but it takes so much longer than other types of stories!
When you start out so far down at the bottom, like Ricky does here, it is often nearly impossible to ever get up high enough that you have some control over your life and have actual choices.
