I think the number of mis-deliveries by actual Amazon employees (as opposed to the post office) is probably pretty low. But products arrive on doorsteps by multiple paths, so it's hard to keep the system error-free.
A more common issue is what people in our neighborhood call Porch Pirates, who cruise around looking for boxes to steal. /o\
But just last week, our son got an email from Amazon with a picture of his 'delivered' package in front of a door, and a message asking, "What do you think of our service?"
And his response was, "I think that's not my door..." :O
