Tales From An Alternate Reality

I love that you used this last prompt to write about your process throughout the assignments. I admire anyone who can write fiction. I mostly think of these assignments as like the kind of columns that people like Maureen Dowd or David Brooks write. Or that Anna Quindlen used to write. Or like my ministers' sermons (minus the Bible stories). A little memoir, a little humor, a little social observation. I put these assignments on my calendar and mostly finished them when I said I would. All nighters are not an option if you're a singer and your body is your instrument. Mostly what went by the wayside was the copy editing I do for a living, so I had to take some money out of savings.
