This is what childhood used to be all about, and for some kids, it still is! I think it's easier when you're in an area where nature is close at hand, rather than in the middle of a big city, but packing a lunch and being gone for a huge part of the day just having adventures is one of the greatest opportunities childhood has to offer. :)
So glad you enjoyed it, and that it brought back some nice memories. :)
