I should probably worry that this was the story I really wanted to write for this prompt. "Half-zombie/regular guy buddy story-- that's insane! Why would you go there?"
But that's what it wanted to be. I thought I was going into dark and spooky territory for a change, but the story is really about the aftermath and surviving of a tragedy rather than dwelling in the event itself.
And it was a lot of fun to write, which sounds disturbing all over again. ;) /o\
